The project began with a need to shift perspective — how a major internal launch could move beyond information-sharing to become a genuine act of engagement with the communities it seeks to serve.
Working with Spark, MAU WAI, and rangatahi champions of digital equity, we created the ALL IN digital equity launch as a platform for lived experience. Rather than speaking about communities, the programme centred young people to tell their own stories — positioning rangatahi not as recipients of change, but as leaders shaping the future.

The day brought together 750 staff at Spark Arena, with over 2,000 joining nationwide, but the scale was held through intimacy and intent. The morning was led by rangatahi voices — sharing firsthand experiences of digital inequity and the pathways they are carving forward. This grounded Spark’s strategic ambition in real stories, creating a direct line between purpose and practice.
In the afternoon, the programme shifted from listening to action. Using a cloud-based platform, staff across the country participated in a collective ideation process — transforming the event into one of Aotearoa’s largest co-design sessions. This ensured the kaupapa of digital equity was not just understood, but actively shaped by those responsible for delivering it.

The result is a redefinition of what community engagement and internal activation can be for Aotearoa’s largest telecommunications provider — embedding equity, participation, and accountability at the centre of both culture and strategy. Recognised with the 2022 Pressie Award for Best Event or Experiential Campaign, ALL IN set a new standard for how organisations can align purpose with meaningful action.
